Inner Voices is a story driven RPG that uses fun puzzles, bullet-hell attacks and an acting mechanic to explore the world of people's minds.

The game has a TV show motif, and will be released in a per-episode basis. There are five episodes in total.

Gameplay

The game has a mix of overworld gameplay (with calm exploration and puzzle-solving) and battle gameplay (with reasonably fast paced action!)

During battle, you will have to understand your enemy in order to ACT. From silly shenanigans to heart-touching moments, within ACTs lie your key to making a better[1] world. You may hug abandoned dolls, dance like a ballerina or eat dirt- truly endless possibilities!

You may also use character-specific SKILLs, or ITEMs you acquire throughout your journey. Different characters ACT differently, and have different SKILLs, too, and their relationships in the story directly affect how they function in battle.

The game has three major endings, each which depend on how you approach the game. For the most rewarding experience, well, don't stress over it. Play as your heart feels like.

Graphics & Aesthetics

320x180 pixel art graphics with vibrant and soft colours picked ripe from the 80's! You won't believe your eyes (but please do, they would never lie to you).

The art style is largely inspired by the Mother series and, mostly, art from my pixel art acquaintances.

Soundtrack

The game has an original soundtrack (an incredibly eclectic one) with music going from scary ambient dungeons, to funky 50's diners to samba to panic attacks!

Release Date

I want to get a demo by 2025, but, hey, time does what it wants.
